After many years of being a "lone wolf" owner I decided to join a local chapter of an Austin-Healey club. Their club "Encounter" was coming up and I was determined to attend with my car. On the night before we were to leave for the meet one of my carburetor floats decided not to (float). I was devastated by the thought of not being able to take my car. After calming down I found a solution, in my fishing tackle box! I bored a hole through a large, round cork float to fit over the center post of the float chamber and, Bob(ber)'s your uncle, a working carb! It not only got me to the meet and back but worked perfectly until a more traditional replacement arrived.
