I purchased my 1977 MGB in Salem, Oregon in April 1980. I was the 2nd owner (It was a California car). Fortunately I was working as a mechanic at German Motors at this time. I learned a lot about Lucas electrical (not so good). There is no DEQ in Salem so all the Calif. Smog went and then a Rabbit 60 amp alt. was installed, this made the MGB perform much better and much more reliable. For over 10 years it was a daily driver. Little by little things were added, side draft weber, header, Monza exhaust and big valve head. I never lost my love for the car but little by little I drove it less and less. Then 3 years ago I was fortunate to meet a couple of very talented men that made my dream come true. (A total restoration and customization.) The car was taken totally apart. The body was taken down to bare metal. Thanks to Victoria British, Northwest Import Parts and EBay all factory parts were replaced. All nuts & bolts were replaced with stainless. I have kept it true to the 1977 apearance. With Earl’s ability to work magic with metal I had louvres put in the hood and scoups in the front fenders the rear panal totally cleaned up the License is on the bumper with LED’s the back ups are LED’s under the bumper and the gas filler is in the trunk. The side crome was removed and the tear drop mirrors were a real find to give her that modern look. The paint is pearl white and the bumpers are black lacqure. The interior is my design. With gun metal gray carpet it highlites the custom black & gray seats. The stock guages have been modified to have brushed aluminum rings steering wheel and glove box panels have the same brushed aluminum finish. I have a web site www.davidusmcmgb.com when she is totally done all the pictures will be there. Thanks again to Victoria British for letting me show her off.
