I located the MK1 in San Francisco in 2009. It had 24,000 miles and sported the original steel rims, hubcaps, trim rings, air cleaner unit, tool kit and hard top.
The two-year restoration was completed in 2014 by Tiger specialist Paul Reisentz in Camino, California.
I entered the car at the annual Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive Father's Day Invitational Car Show. Crowd Control estimated 40,000 spectators this year!
The paint color is the 1961 Aston Martin racing green.
Many of the spectators concurred with my choice in retaining the original steel rims and painting them the body color.
The monochromatic treatment enhances the subtle body curves.
