Me and Our TR, Forever Young
It was 1969 and upon my return from a cruise with the "Gulf of Tonkin Yacht Club", I immediately pursued a dream that had been left behind.
I still had a desire for low power, high speed and fast turns. At the time, I was working part time at a local hotel pub, and one day, a gentleman
who was a bit down in luck was selling his car. For two hundred bucks, I entered into the Lucas British Invasion. There it was, a 1960 TR3.
A little banged up, but I didn't care. My dream come true.....a TR3 !
This was the beginning of a lifetime of great fun and exciting driving. It was and still is an adventure that has kept me the same as I was back then;
top down and happy on the twisties for forty plus years.
Our TR is now 54 years young. She was originally factory white, then BRG, white again, signal red and now black. She is a member of a family that
we all take pride in refreshing from time to time, and, of coarse, driving. Just a couple of years ago, my wife Mary, I and our TR took first place in
a road rally at the Grand Prix festival at Watkins Glen. What a blast!
